Trust & Compliance

Boring about data. On purpose.

This page exists to be forwarded — to your IT director, your legal counsel, your board. Everything below is contract language, not marketing language. If a claim here matters to your procurement, we'll put it in writing.

FERPA alignment

  • Latitude operates as a school official with a legitimate educational interest under FERPA
  • Every data read is scoped to the user's organization and role — building- and caseload-level access
  • Every sensitive view writes an audit trail: who looked, at what, when
  • FERPA-safe printable records for MTSS meetings and family conferences

COPPA & early learners

  • BLOOM (K–3 SEL) is consent-gated at the architecture level, not by policy
  • No SEL data for an early learner is collected or displayed without documented parental consent
  • School-authorized basis supported for in-school assessments where applicable
  • Consent status is visible per student, and revocation takes effect immediately

What we never do

  • We never sell student data — to anyone, for any reason
  • We never use student data to train AI models
  • We never charge for data export, including in your exit year
  • We never require you to redline your state's student data privacy agreement — we sign it as written

Access & security

  • Data encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Role-based access mapped to your org chart during implementation
  • SIS sync (PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward) — your SIS remains the system of record
  • Admin-only sections for sensitive conduct cases
Data flow, in one paragraph

Rostering, schedules, attendance, and grades sync in from your SIS. Each Latitude product writes its operational data — passes, points, incidents, observations, SEL check-ins, ICAP milestones — to one canonical student record. The TIER MTSS engine reads a defined subset of that record (SIS attendance and academics, COMPASS conduct, SPARK recognition, ROAM movement) to recommend tiers. Nothing leaves the platform. Everything is exportable by you.
